Gifted and Talented Courses

The Gifted and Talented student population in your school is actually a special needs population that demands intellectual and academic challenge, stimulation, and encouragement.  Knowsys knows this--that is why we suggest special courses for GT students to help them excel!

Why should middle school students prepare for the Talent Identification Program?

  • To show the students the format of the exam
  • To get the students comfortable with the content of the exam
  • To prepare students for the timing presssures of the exam
  • To expose students to efficient methods for solving exam questions
  • To help students evaluate where they are relative to their peers

This course not only prepares students for the SAT but also answers parents' questions about the SAT, the Duke TIP program, and the college admissions process.

PSAT

The PSAT Course is designed for Sophomores and Juniors and is typically scheduled at the beginning of the school year to prepare these students for the October PSAT.  This course will benefit not only National Merit contenders but also any student who would benefit from the extra exposure to teted concepts.

The PSAT course familiarizes the student with the format of the exam, the timing pressures, and the most efficient way to solve exam questions.  Parent Information Seminars are available for this course.

SAT and ACT
Courses

SAT and ACT Courses should be conducted to help students prepare for the first SAT administration of the spring of their Junior year.  This will allow students plenty of time to prepare for the exams, take the exams, and evaluate their success.  If necessary, students can retake the exams before the end of their Junior yearsto ensure that they have attained their target score before they leave for the summer.

Knowsys SAT and ACT courses targeting GT students are designed to help them excel on the exams by giving them the tools they need to succeed.  This course is also beneficial to students who took the PSAT course because it reinforces concepts introduced in the PSAT course and takes students to the next level of SAT or ACT prep.
